Don’t resolve. Revolutionize.
As a doctor, I’ve been witness to a lot of people’s personal changes. Some people struggle with diet and lifestyle adjustments while others seem to swan-dive into a whole new way of living—and for a long time, I’ve wondered what accounts for the difference.
When I think back to the patients who made swan-dive transformations, nothing about the patients themselves sticks out as a unifying factor. But there is one detail that a lot of their success stories share: in a word, their approach to change.
Most people resolve to make changes. In other words, they commit and they mentally push themselves to stick with it—but the trouble, I believe, is that a lot of people don’t really adjust how they think in the process. Specifically, a lot of people struggle to keep their minds open to new possibilities (even the ones they’d love).
No surprise that diet and lifestyle changes can often feel like unpleasant guests in a crowded house. Spoiler alert: when that’s how things start, they don’t usually get better.
But I notice that a lot of the “swan-divers” don’t just resolve to make changes. They revolutionize to make changes. They’re willing to throw out old assumptions and expectations, try a bunch of new things, educate themselves in the relevant science—whatever helps to make those changes feel right, natural, and normal in their lives.
A lot of popular dietary regimens—keto, paleo, Whole30, WW (formerly Weight Watchers), programs targeting calories or carbs, you name it—aren’t actually very accommodating of these “personal revolutions.” They tend to favor rules and restrictions over options, flexibility, or personalization; you’re meant to adhere to the diet whether or not you’d have arrived there on your own terms.
When you choose your diet based on what you’re told to remove and restrict, your relationship with food suffers and your understanding of what’s healthy can become severely skewed.
The diets listed above are not only restrictive, but they all fail to focus on what’s truly important: YOUR GUT. Yes, a couple of them might claim gut healing as a side-benefit, but they simply don’t have the science to back it up.
That’s where I come in, and that’s what Microbiome 21 is about at its core. Because your gut microbiome is the core of your health.
These 21 days are not just about shedding some pounds and collecting a badge of endurance. This challenge is about gaining energy, long-term vitality, learning habits you can actually stick with, and understanding that the health of every system in your body starts in the gut.
If you know anything about me, it’s that I come with receipts, a.k.a. science-backed research. There is nothing anecdotal in Microbiome 21. Each day of this challenge, every habit I will teach you, and all of the knowledge you will gain is all based on nutritional science.
It’s time to leave behind old habits and welcome a revolutionary change.
Microbiome 21 isn’t about what you have to take away. It’s a science-backed, evidence-based approach to optimal health—and frankly, if I do say so myself, it’s a heck of a lot of fun. Most importantly, this isn’t a 21-days-and-you're-done kinda deal. Unlike some of the most popular diets and fads, Microbiome 21 will demonstrate exactly how to establish habits and set a foundation for lasting health.
Plus, you’ll track your experience from the beginning and when you start seeing positive changes—I’m talking within the first week—that’s when the real fun begins.
Once you go through Microbiome 21, it’ll be there for you to return to if you ever need it. But if I’ve done my job right, you’ll never again need to start from scratch to get your health back on track.
Maybe it’s been a long time coming, maybe you’ve been inspired by recent world events, or maybe you’re just ready to let science lead the way. Any way you swing it, the time for your personal health revolution is NOW.

Change is Possible in 21 Days
"My husband and I started 2022 the best possible way by signing up for Dr. B’s 21-Day Microbiome 21 Challenge. We’ve been vegan for five years and WFPB for the past 2 ½, but after spending so much time in lockdown, we really felt we had let things slip. The booze was back, hash browns were a regular for breakfast and we were eating a lot more processed foods and oils than we had in a good while.
In short, we felt like crap.
Three weeks later, things couldn’t be more different.
No alcohol, no fizzy drinks, no processed foods. Our energy levels have gone through the roof, so has our motivation and mindset is so much more relaxed and positive.
I feel like a whole new person! I learned SO much - such as immune conditions like fibromyalgia and coeliac disease start in your GUT - and it has given me so much hope and control in recovering both from fibro AND myocarditis. We average between 35-45 plants a day and will never go back to any other way of eating.
Everything we have learned and implemented has set us up for life.
I have learned more about nutrition and what causes and heals disease in three weeks than I did in my entire Cornell Plant Based Nutrition course!"
This is a well thought-out program introduced in steps that make sense, presented with a positive, no-pressure method, and contained within a supportive community. I made several major changes as a result and they weren't even that hard! Highly recommended.
I've followed Dr. B since his first book dropped in to the plant-based world and just love his no nonsense, kind way of approaching all things gut health. Microbiome 21 is no exception. It was a great way to start my year and really gave me great momentum to finally take charge of my gut health.
In 21 days my blood pressure improved, my gastritis went down, I could quit some of my medication for gastritis and I increased all things good like fiber, taking walks and drinking water. This is a really good way to start a year and at an affordable cost! You need to do this - I'm sure, and I'll probably see you there because this is something I can do at the start of every year!
I’m back on track and I love it. I do feel so much better and having accountability helps to stay on track!
I would recommend everyone to learn more about the importance of nutrition and think that this is an perfect way to jumpstart the health journey.
Down 9lbs and 2.5 inches off my belly. Still a long way to go, but off to a great start. Every meal, I stop and ask myself if there is another plant I can add and I can usually find one or two.
Sprouts are now growing and I am working on adding in fermented foods at least every other day.
Microbiome 21 was a fantastic challenge. I would highly recommend it. A great course whether you are just learning about plant based nutrition or have been eating plants for years. I have been personally studying nutrition and health for the past 10-12 years, have been plant predominant for at least 3 years, and have completed eCornell Whole Food Plant Based certification. Fiber Fueled is one of the many books I have read, yet I still learned a ton with this course.
Taking the time to really focus on my journey and to use the information I have learned to address my microbiome and personal health was very powerful in solidifying my commitment to this lifestyle. Thank you, Dr. B, for helping me literally "listen to and trust my gut."
It is empowering and I feel great!
When I started Dr. B’s 21-day challenge, I was having attacks of GERD and IBS two or three times a week and felt lethargic all the time. I have now been 6 weeks without any gut issues at all! I’m now eating a completely WFPB, no oil diet. I am eating as much high FODMAP foods as I want and feel great! No symptoms whatsoever.
It’s been completely life changing!
This is a great program for anyone wanting to understand their own gut health, how their body responds to what you eat, how you eat, and really how you spend your time. It gave me a chance to buy food, prepare it, and eat it more mindfully. And it was all delicious (and easy to cook!).
I recommend it for anyone who is curious about symptoms that show up in response to food. I came away with a better understanding of how and what I eat impacts how I feel. Thank you!
As someone who was already vegan, and mostly whole food plant based, I wasn’t sure there would be much for me to learn here.
I decided to take the program when I heard there would be daily research articles included - I’m a data nerd and love to always be learning. I was pleasantly surprised to find so much more to the program than just plant based eating. I’ve incorporated most of the recommended habits into my daily routine and feel so much better for it. I thoroughly enjoyed each lesson, and found value in each day’s content.
Dr. B presents the content in such an engaging way that it’s impossible not to enjoy learning about the microbiome.
I gave the 21 Day Challenge a go! Why not?!?! This program and lifestyle change has honestly been a miracle.
Over the course of this program, and following it 100%, I have more energy, I have lost 10 pounds (in a very healthy way), got great news from my physical therapist that I’m moving in the right direction, I have AMAZING BM’s now (yup, I will gladly brag about this!!!!), and I have finally been cleared to attempt a running program again. This lifestyle change has seriously been the change I needed.
